Signed fine art giclée print
When the tide is out and the water in the Torridge Estuary settles into a network of handsome pools, I just want to drop everything and reach for my paints. Nature has a lovely way of creating beauty in order, and the way the pools form a sort of geometric pattern feels like it has deliberately designed this view to be as beautiful as possible!
The walk along Appledore Quayside looking over to Instow is one of my favourites, and a must-do on a visit to North Devon. Even better when the ferry is running and you’ve got a delicious coffee in hand from one of the independent cafes. The view changes by the hour, and it’s like a sport to capture it at that perfect moment (highly subjective!) when the colours, reflections, weather and tide collaborate to showcase it at its best. I hope I’ve managed to capture one of your favourite scenes in this painting.
This is a reproduction print of my original gouache painting. As an authentic Westward Ho! artist, there’s nothing that pleases me more than creating art featuring the local places I love so much. I have a selection of Devon art if you’re looking for other prints to pair with it. The Pill, Northam Burrows, Westward Ho! Pebbles, Westward Ho! Reflections, ‘The Skern’ ,‘Across to Instow’, ‘Pebble Ridge at Sunset’ , ‘Bucks Mills’, ‘Bucks Mills Artists’ Cabin’, ‘Sand and Sea’, ‘Still Water to Instow’, ‘Sunset at Westward Ho!’ or ‘Sunset Pebbles’ are all local scenes.
Available in A4 and A5.
