Live wedding and event illustration in Devon and Cornwall
Welcome! I’m Clare, a live event illustrator working throughout Devon, Cornwall and further afield. I offer a range of services, including live wedding guest portraits, detailed and realistic ceremony paintings, and beautiful candid sketches of your event or wedding.
Bringing your event to life through the medium of original art, I offer unique wedding entertainment for couples who want to treat their guests and themselves to an experience to remember.
I specialise in the ‘live’ aspect of live wedding painting – I have guests pose in front of me, and over the duration of a short chat, I paint a portrait that captures their essence – each one recognisable and full of character. Of course, I can also paint from photos if that better suits your event. As I enter my fifth year of being a live wedding artist in Devon and Cornwall, I have heaps of experience working at different venues, to different schedules and adapting my process and packages for each event.
If you’re looking for unique wedding entertainment or alternative wedding favours, find out more about my live event illustrator services here:
In addition to my work as a live portrait artist, I also teach watercolour painting, and work on fine art pieces in my home studio in North Devon. I am inspired by the beautiful coast around my home in Westward Ho!. Using oils, gouache, ink and watercolour, I create realistic yet painterly pieces of art.

Where else can you find my work?
I am proud to sell my work through several local stockists. You can find my framed prints and cards in Johns of Instow and Appledore, Market Street Kitchen, and the Square Gallery in Northam. I also have a small selection of original paintings for sale in Artsie Coast Gallery in Westward Ho.
Throughout the year, I take part in local exhibitions which have included the RNLI Art Show at the North Devon Yacht Club, open exhibitions at the Burton Art Gallery, and the Bishops Tawton Art Club exhibition in Instow village hall. The best way to find out where I’m exhibiting is to follow me on social media, and sign up to my newsletter.
