The humpback whale is a large and gentle giant. Despite measuring up to 16 metres, they feed mainly on krill and small fish. They travel an incredible 16,000 miles per year during migration, from cold waters where they feed, to warm waters where they mate and have their young.
These elegant creatures were hunted to almost extinction by the whaling industry, and although their numbers have recovered, they are still threatened by human activity in their ocean homes.
My whale print comes from my original ink and watercolour painting, and would sit nicely alongside my Lobster, Trio of Mackerel and Octopus prints. The ideal present if you’re looking for gifts for nature lovers, ocean prints, seaside prints, whale prints or art prints for children!
