A5 signed limited-edition fine art giclée print

An evening stroll along the quay at Appledore, timed with the perfect tide and not a breath of wind, created the serendipitous conditions for my photo which inspired this gouache painting.

Looking out across the river towards the North Devon village of Instow, the fading sun created a wonderful gradient in the sky, which reflected beautifully in the glassy water. A little rowing boat was moored as if deliberately placed to create the perfect composition, and it wasn’t long before I had my paints out to recapture the scene.
