A6 fine art giclée prints
I am forever inspired by water – the way it moves, catches the light, distorts what’s underneath and reflects what is above. It is mesmerising, hypnotic and enticing. On a hot summer’s day, who can resist the temptation to kick off their shoes and plunge their feet into the gentle waves on a sandy beach.
Sam and I have been lucky enough to visit some beautiful beaches all over the world, but here in the UK we have some spectacular spots which are right up there with some of the best beaches on the planet.
I painted this triptych having been inspired by the crystalline waters of St. Mawes, Corwall. We’ve visited a few times by ferry from Falmouth, and at the time of the trip in question the sky was ablaze with sunshine and a gentle breeze rippled the water, which was so clear the shadows of the boats could be seen on the sea bed.
I looked at a few aerial reference photos of waves lapping the shore to inform this painting, but this is mainly fabricated from memory – these wave formations never existed apart from in my head.
These ocean prints are suited to being displayed above a fireplace, along a hallway, or on a shelf. They are the ideal gift for someone who loves the ocean. If you’re looking for seaside prints, ocean art prints or sea-themed prints – could these be for you?
The prints in this triptych are also available as single A6 prints: Ocean One, Ocean Two and Ocean Three. You can choose the tryptic or a single print when you add to basket. The display photos show the prints in order.
*Please note, when you purchase the triptych option, only the third, right-hand print in the set is signed. If you would like me to sign each print so that they can be displayed individually, please leave me a note at the checkout.
