Signed fine art giclée print
One sunny day I headed down to the rocky beach in Appledore, Devon with my family, and spent a lovely hour or so collecting shells. At home, we emptied our pockets and I arranged them ready to paint. This print is the result – taken directly from my original ink and watercolour painting.
There’s something special about scouring the shore for these pretty beach treasures – keeping your eyes peeled for a flash of colour, or a shimmery surface buried in the sand. I wanted to pour the delight of collecting seashells into a seaside print – a reminder of childhood fun which is still enjoyable as an adult.
Look carefully and you’ll spot shells which are broken, or less than perfect, a couple of stones and even a discarded plastic cap. I kept these ‘imperfections’ in the print, because in that moment on the beach, we were inspired to pick them up and they’re unique to that lovely hour we spent there.
This beach art print would make a lovely gift for someone who loves the sea, or to put on the wall in your own home as a reminder of happy days spent on the beach!
