Join me for a refreshing morning of creativity and inspiration by the sea!

This tutored plein air watercolour workshop is your opportunity to paint the lovely coastal scenery of Westward Ho! with expert guidance and plenty of encouragement.

What to Expect

Whether you’re picking up a brush for the first time or looking to refine your skills, this workshop is suitable for complete beginners to intermediate painters. You’ll be guided through the entire painting process, from the first sketch to the finishing touches.

Throughout the morning, we’ll cover:

Preliminary sketching – how to quickly capture the scene

Composition – finding a strong focal point and layout

Colour and tone – choosing harmonious palettes and balancing light and shade

Watercolour techniques – washes, layering, brushwork, and more

Step-by-step guidance – from blank page to completed painting

Expect plenty of tips, tricks, and one-to-one support to help you create a watercolour painting you’ll be proud to take home.

What’s Included

All art materials provided (paper, paints, brushes, boards, etc.)

Expert tuition and individual feedback throughout the day

A friendly, relaxed atmosphere in a stunning natural setting

What to Bring

A camping chair

A portable easel if you have one (don’t worry if not, your lap will be fine!)

Suitable clothing for the weather (e.g. hat, sun cream, or umbrella and waterproofs) – we’ll go ahead unless it’s raining heavily, in which case I will reschedule (with an option for a refund)

Comfortable shoes – there will be some walking and uneven terrain

Snacks/a flask of tea to keep you going!

I will issue a full refund if the place can be re-allocated to someone else, or at my discretion.
